Summary
A newly discovered Early Cambrian cephalopod, Eoceras shaanxiense gen. et sp. nov., features septa and a segmented tube resembling a primordial siphuncle. This finding extends the known origins of cephalopods and sheds light on the early development of chambered shells used for buoyancy.
