A 20-year search for the rare custard-and-chocolate coloured dark bordered beauty moth, previously thought to exist only in Yorkshire, has expanded to Northumberland. Dave Wainwright began surveying Wallington in Northumberland in 2004, where he initially found no moths due to heavy grazing.
